1. Device Sensors and Hardware Access

FixKit accesses various device sensors and hardware components to provide its utility tools. This data is processed locally on your device and is NOT transmitted to our servers:

Camera Access

• Purpose: Used by the Magnifier tool to zoom and capture images, and by the Protractor tool for angle measurements
• Data Collected: Real-time camera feed, captured images (stored locally only if you choose to save them)
• Storage: Images are only saved to your device's photo library if you explicitly choose to save them

Microphone Access

• Purpose: Used by the Sound Meter tool to measure ambient noise levels
• Data Collected: Real-time audio levels (decibels)
• Storage: Audio data is processed in real-time and NOT recorded or stored

Location Services

• Purpose: Used by the Compass tool to provide accurate directional information
• Data Collected: Device location (when in use only)
• Storage: Location data is used in real-time and NOT stored or transmitted

Accelerometer and Gyroscope

• Purpose: Used by the Level tool and Vibration Meter to detect device orientation and movement
• Data Collected: Device orientation, tilt angles, vibration measurements
• Storage: Processed in real-time, NOT stored

Flashlight/Torch

• Purpose: Used by the Flashlight tool to control device LED
• Data Collected: None
• Storage: N/A

Battery Information

• Purpose: Used by the Battery tool to display battery status, level, temperature, and health
• Data Collected: Battery level, charging state, temperature, voltage, health status
• Storage: Processed in real-time, NOT stored

Network Information

• Purpose: Used by the Network Info tool to display WiFi and network details
• Data Collected:
  • WiFi SSID (network name)
  • BSSID (router MAC address)
  • Local IP address (IPv4 and IPv6)
  • Gateway address
  • Subnet mask
  • Signal strength
  • Public IP address (fetched from external service)
  • ISP information (fetched from external service)
  • Approximate location (country/city from IP)
• Storage: Processed in real-time, NOT stored permanently
• Third-Party Service: Public IP information is fetched from ip-api.com (see Third-Party Services section)

Storage Information

• Purpose: Used by the Storage Analyzer tool to display device storage capacity and usage
• Data Collected: Total storage, available storage, used storage
• Storage: Processed in real-time, NOT stored

2. App Usage Data (Stored Locally)

The following data is stored locally on your device using SharedPreferences and is NEVER transmitted to external servers:

• Onboarding Status: Whether you've completed the initial app tutorial
• App Open Count: Number of times you've opened the app (used for ad frequency management)
• Tool Open Count: Number of times you've opened individual tools (used for ad frequency management)
• Pro Unlock Status: Whether you've unlocked Pro features (permanently via purchase or temporarily via rewarded ads)
• Pro Unlock Expiry: Expiration date for temporary Pro unlocks
• Interstitial Ad Counters: Timestamps and counts to manage ad frequency (max 3 ads per hour)
• First Launch Date: Date when you first installed the app (used for rating prompts)
• Rating Status: Whether you've rated the app
• Language Preference: Your selected app language

3. Advertising Data

FixKit uses Google Mobile Ads (AdMob) to display advertisements. AdMob may collect and process the following information:

• Device Information: Device model, operating system version, unique device identifiers (Advertising ID)
• Ad Interaction Data: Ad views, clicks, and interactions
• App Usage Data: Time spent in app, app version
• Location Data: Approximate location (country/city level) for ad targeting
• IP Address: For fraud prevention and approximate location

4. In-App Purchases

FixKit offers in-app purchases to unlock Pro features permanently. Purchase information is processed through:

• Google Play Store (Android)
• Apple App Store (iOS)

We do NOT collect or store payment information. All payment processing is handled securely by Google and Apple.

How We Use Information

Local Processing Only

All sensor data, device information, and tool measurements are processed locally on your device. We do NOT:

• Transmit sensor data to remote servers
• Store your measurements or tool usage data on external servers
• Share your personal data with third parties (except as required for ads and purchases)

Advertising

• Ad-related data is collected and processed by Google AdMob
• Used to display relevant advertisements
• Used to measure ad performance
• Used for fraud prevention

App Functionality

• Local preferences are stored to remember your settings
• Usage counters manage ad frequency to improve user experience
• Pro unlock status determines feature availability

Data Storage and Security

Local Storage

• All app preferences and settings are stored locally using SharedPreferences
• No cloud backup or synchronization
• Data remains on your device only

Security Measures

• No sensitive data is transmitted over the network (except for ads and IP lookup)
• Camera and microphone data is processed in real-time and not stored
• Location data is used only when Compass tool is active

All permissions are requested only when you use the specific tool that requires them.

Children's Privacy

FixKit does not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. The app is designed for general audiences. If you believe we have inadvertently collected information from a child under 13, please contact us immediately.

Your Rights and Choices

Opt-Out of Personalized Ads

You can opt-out of personalized advertising by:

• Android: Settings > Google > Ads > Opt out of Ads Personalization
• iOS: Settings > Privacy > Advertising > Limit Ad Tracking

Permission Management

You can revoke permissions at any time through your device settings:

• Android: Settings > Apps > FixKit > Permissions
• iOS: Settings > FixKit > Permissions

Note: Revoking permissions will disable the corresponding tools.

Data Deletion

To delete all locally stored app data:

• Android: Settings > Apps > FixKit > Storage > Clear Data
• iOS: Delete and reinstall the app

Pro Version Benefits

Purchasing the Pro version permanently:

• Removes all advertisements
• Unlocks all Pro tools (Protractor, Network Info, Battery, Vibration Meter, Storage Analyzer)
• Stops all ad-related data collection by AdMob

Temporary Pro unlock (24 hours via rewarded ad):

• Unlocks Pro tools for 24 hours
• Does NOT remove ads
• Ad data collection continues

International Data Transfers

AdMob may transfer data internationally as part of its advertising services. Please refer to Google's privacy policy for information about international data transfers.

Changes to This Privacy Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify you of any changes by:

• Updating the "Last Updated" date at the top of this policy
• Displaying a notification in the app (for significant changes)

Your continued use of FixKit after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

Data Retention

• Local App Data: Retained until you clear app data or uninstall the app
• Ad Data: Retained by Google AdMob according to their data retention policies
• Purchase Data: Retained by Google Play / Apple App Store according to their policies
